ILD blocked my calls

My daughter is in the county jail. And she found out she was to go to prison for 10 months. But before that she was calling me her mom collect and then out of nowhere we was not able to take calls from her. Ild told us she used up all of her time she could call home. But I have a private phone company I did not have to pay them for a phone minutes. But when I called to find out why she could not call they said she is blocked for ever so either I pay them Ild out my pocket I can not talk to her. They also said they are the only company period that has a contract with the jails and prisons. That suck

Outrageous Charges

Our daughter recently ran away to a city 6 hours away. Being frantic parents, trying to find her then try to get her to come home, we had her call us collect. One call was 21 minutes and cost $93! Yep, $93! A few collect calls and the bill was over $300. So high, Bell cut off our long distance because before this we hardly ever made long distance calls. To make matters worse, we couldn't get in touch with our daughter because the service was cut off. And neither Bell or IDL could care less. Is there nothing to be done about these obscene charges?

Collect call from hospital

Had a relative in Boston,MA. call collect to me in NH last night(1/6/14). Was never told what co. the op. was from. A simple call, less than10 min. This a.m. my Amex called investigating fraudulent chg. of $89.00. Told them I never authorized any chg.'s in that amt. further investigation by Amex revealed it came from ILD Corp. the chg. was deemed a fraud and they issued a new # and no payment was given. I thank god Amex is on top of their cardholders activity otherwise it may have been too late by the time I got that bill. Ild is pure FRAUD.

Two distress phone calls made by my daughter

My daughter, travelling alone, was at Luton Airport for an ongoing flight to Egypt. At that time there was considerable violence occurring in Egypt She was unable to board and called us in Canada to ask for advice. Two calls were made for a total of 12 minutes. We received our invoice from our telephone provider in Canada - BELL - the charges for these totaling $64.12 CAN. I contacted a BELL representative regarding the charges and she directed me to contact your company. This amount to me is excessive and I therefor request a reduced rate - especially given the stressful circumstances that my daughter was presented on August 15th

ILD Charged $69.36 For 11 Minute Collect Call

My son called me collect here in Ontario from a phone booth in Alberta and I was charged $69.36 for an 11 minute call. I followed up with Bell and was told they have been selling their phone booths to 3rd party telecoms, and that ILD can charge anything they want because unlike Bell their rates are not regulated. This seems to be part of a deliberate strategy by ILD to exploit this legal loophole and gouge people. You expect to pay more for collect calls, but who would expect to pay almost $7/minute? I'm pissed and have no recourse here. What they're doing is legal.

Scammers

In 2010 charges for long distance showed up on my phone bill at 24 cents a minute. I called and they said they had a recording of my conversation they would send me. It sounded like me but I don't remember the conversation. I am pretty sure they had dubbed my voice in. I had some angry words with them and they promised to give me credit back. They only refunded about 1/4 of the amount they agreed to refund. Then 3 years later (now) the charges started to appear again. I had Century Link put a block on 3rd party long distance companies three years ago, but ILD got through their block and began charging me again for long-distance calls. I already have unlimited long distance with Century Link. They are dishonest thieves. They claim that they have no record of me ever any discussion with them in 2010 and they said that Century Link must of removed the block (which it didn't) They are scary, scammy and not a legitimate company. I can't believe they can do this to people!!! They say they are just a billing company who bills for other companies. It seems they are in partnership with these other companies and they pass the buck between each other.

Fraudulent payphone charges

I used credit card for pay phone at Chicago O'Hare Airport to make a domestic long distance phone call. The rate is $0.50 per minute. And yet I talked only about two minutes, the charge to my credit card is $14.90. I made only one call and yet the second charge is $5.00. The amount loss is not large, however, the airport should not allow a fraudulent company to operate in the airport. Something needs to be done to protect the unknowing consumers. There are plenty of complains against this company. However, it seems that no authority has done anything to protect the consumers.

ILD assissts with Fraud!

Charge of 29.95 from ILD Telecommunications was on the Springfield Ballet Telephone Bill. Called AT&T - Treva stated that ILD is a 3rd Party Billing Co and that AT&T has to allow them to pass a bill thru their system. Called ILD Telecommunications. Spoke with Barbara. She confirmed that ILD was a 3rd Party Billing Company. She proceeded to tell the company's name that had sent the bill thru was Next Payment - no address a& no phone number available. But they specialize in internet services. I informed her that I was going to send a complaint to the FTC - not only about Next Payment, but that I was going to include ILD as well. There was nowhere on the complaint process to provide information about the 2nd company - so I am providing it here. Rep Name WAS Barbara - phone number 800-433-**** I work for a Small NFP. Our phone bill is small, so that when a charge like this is added, we notice!!! This is not the first time we have had to deal with this. A couple of years *** with the change of personnel, we ended up with several charges for 39.99over a 2 month period. After, much sleuthing, I found out that 3 companies in 3 different states were passing their fake services thru the same 3rd Party Billing Company in Texas. The companies call and ask a question that they believe will receive a "yes". They record the yes but the yes is used to "order " services that will not and do not provide. Our earlier experience caused us to put polices in place that we do not confirm any info with any company that we do not know. So we are not sure how this one slipped thru the cracks. Not only is the original company guilty of fraud, but the 3rd Party Billing companies are guilty in assisting with the perpetration of the fraud. All need to be stopped!!!

Same problem here with ILD. We have almost $500 worth of charges from them.

AT&T rep was very helpful, but couldn't do much other than switch us back to AT@T long distance and give us a small courtesy credit. She said that these 3rd party companies will pose as your phone company and all they have to do is get an affirmative remark from you at any point in the conversation, like "okay, tell me more" or "yes, this is (your name)", and they can switch you over. Her advice was be careful what you say and make sure it's your phone company.

When I spoke with ILD the rep he said they wouldn't issue a refund because they have a recorded authorization from us.

I told them I want to hear it and they are supposed to be calling back to play it for me.

We'll see if they do. If anyone has any suggestions for making them refund money, let me know what it is.

I have had this same problem with AT&T.Different telephone company but same problem. So i informed AT&T, WERE do you get off letting someone add charge's to my telephone that i have not made.AT&T RESPONSE we have nothing to do with other companies adding charge's to you monthly bill.My response you had better have some say so,BECAUSE you took it on yourself to add these charge's.GUESS what it did not happen again.AT&T is so full of it.AT&T is suppose to have control of their office,BUT sometime's i wonder about them.I do not have a long distance provider,SO why?WOULD i call long distance.EVERYONE in my family reside in DALLAS.

When you do call ILD you get to talk to a minimum wage clerk that barely understands what you are talking about after repeating yourself many times. She sounded like she had about a 7th grade education. I was told they would take care of it but had to call back again the next month again.

$ 120 for 8 min internaltonal call

I used Debit card in Chicago Airport's public phone - as I was short of Quarters . A 8 minute call from Chicago to India was billed $ 120 . There is no information on the phnoe of the charges for the debit card. It is not $1 for 2 min as mentioned on the phone . Not sure why the public telphone in the airport has tied up a company that has Exorbitant charges . Is there no way to complaint ? It has - some $ 80 as charges + 20 $ as Communication charge + 20 $ as tax + 2 $ for card encrytion The phone number of the company is 1.800.226****.

Company overcharged on a toll call from a payphone

I used a payphone in Leray NY to call a friend and bill to my Canadian calling card. I was stunned to get a bill for $29.93 for a 6 minute call at 830 p.m. The 800 # gives me someone that cannot investigate or make any adjstment. The rep keeps telling me I made a collect call and that I need to call Telus. I assure you I was a long distance operator for 27 years. My call was not collect and I don't have any affiliation with Telus. Bell Canada finally agreed to send it back to be investigated. Nobody knows where the head office is for ILD Communications is. I guess I should have used my cell phone and paid roaming charges. It probably would have been cheaper.

IDL Telecomunications INc is scamming us

We just received our Bell phone bill with a charge of $195.00, two collect calls on the same day for a total duration of 33 minutes. Those two calls between 17.21 and 17.45. I was away from home that day and obviously could not accept the collect call. Who is doing this, something has to be done collectively to stop this important fraud. I will phone Bell on Monday to have the charges levied but in the meantime would like to make this scam public, I think that Bell has to do something with this along with consumer protection agencies. We will let you know the outcome by Monday Feb 27.

ILD Lies and issues wrongful billing

A friend had a flat tire in a dangerous urban neighborhood and called me collect for help! ILD initially billed me $36.43 for a local collect call! The following month they added another bill of $2.99 billing fee. ILD's staff directly covered up by refusing to provide correspondence address so I may report them to the authorities on multiple requests. ILD's billing partner told me that I had to pay "$5.00 property rental" to the pay phone's property owner and make a $7.00 donation to the chairty of their choice in the $36.43 bill. I did not authorize recurring billing, but ILD stated that they "have to charge" a billing fee that "usually appears one month after the initial charge." Never mind that my $36.43 fee included a $1.97 USF administrative fee!!! When I disputed the charge the representative first (lied) and told me that the usual & customary charge for a LOCAL collect call is $25 to $35 dollars. I told them that was untrue. I also told them that they cannot charge sales tax on property rental nor charitable contributions. They offered me a small reduction (not enough to cover the property rental nor charitable contribution) and I told them I would pay the usual & customary charge in their approved tariff. ILD representative then told me it was too late, they "had already been paid" and that if I don't pay the outrageous fees, my local phone company would disconnect my phone. I knew that was a lie and told them they are not only lying, but shall not get that fee from me. My local phone company immediately removed the charge, advised me that ILD receives a large amount of complaints, and placed an ILD "block" on my phone preventing them from further fraud. I filed a complaint with the Attorney General, Utility Regulatory Commission, and FCC.

Outrageous fees

We are outraged at ILD. Our relative in Milwaukee, Wis. reversed a call (at our request), to us in Canada. The call cost us 60.21 for 34 minutes, if we had called there (which we will do from now on) the 34 minutes would have been $10.20. Outrageous, you should be ashamed. P.S. I don't need to use 100 words to express my outrage, so here goes: I'm outraged, outraged, outraged, outraged, outraged, outraged. Do you get my message? I'm outraged, at your rip off fees, outraged, what a rip off, outraged I say.

Each company has the right to charge what they want for international calls. If you don't like their rates then use another provider. It's that simple.

Collect call Rape

My daughter lost her cell phone in an unfamiliar city. She had to make a collect call to me. The call was placed from a city less than 100 miles away. The charges were $23 for less than 5 minutes. This is predatory and taking advantage of people that they know have little or no choice but to use their services. There should be a law limiting what they can charge. What's stopping them from charging $1000 a minute. Evil ***. My daughter lost her cell phone in an unfamiliar city. She had to make a collect call to me. She couldn't find a pay phone? There are other options if you don't like the terms you agreed to when you accepted the call.
